Lenovo has announced a variant of the Legion Y700 is arriving in August. This version will have 5G connectivity, but according to a leak, that's not the only major feature of the compact Android tablet.

Just a few days after an unreleased Legion tablet was spotted at a gaming festival in Shenzhen, more details of the device have surfaced. The upcoming tablet is expected to be the fourth Legion-branded tablet from Lenovo this year, and according to new info, it will have features not available on the other three.

The source of the info is the popular Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, and a recent Weibo post has revealed a few details about upcoming compact tablets, including the Legion tablet that recently surfaced on the internet. According to the post, one of the new compact tablets is the spanking new RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, which is scheduled for an international release as the RedMagic Astra 2.

Lenovo's new compact tablet is rumored to have an OLED display.

The source also mentioned that Lenovo is planning to launch a new compact tablet, and unlike the Legion Y700 5th Gen/Legion Tab Gen 5 (available on Lenovo.com for $699.99) announced earlier this year, this tablet will have an OLED display. It will also have 5G connectivity and will be released in August.

This upcoming Legion tablet is believed to be the same one that was spotted at the 2026 G-Fusion Game Festival in Shenzhen. It is also very likely to be the Legion Y700 Infinite tablet Lenovo announced is scheduled for release in August.

Lenovo is definitely targeting the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, which has an OLED display that refreshes at 185Hz, but lacks 5G connectivity. If the rest of the specs of the new Legion Y700 Infinite are on par or better than those of the Legion Y700, the new model is likely to cost more, since it has an OLED display and a 5G modem.

The source also mentioned that iQOO is working on a compact tablet, too, and it is scheduled for release in the second half of the year. The Vivo sub-brand is also planning to release a new flagship smartphone with a 2nm Snapdragon processor.

Last but not least is Apple, which has been reported to have a new iPad mini launching this year, and unlike the previous model, this will have an OLED display.
