Lenovo Idea Tab Pro: Mid-range performer with 12.7-inch 144 Hz display with 272 PPI
The Dimensity 8300 SoC, as mentioned earlier, powers the tablet and is quite a respectable chip. Needless to say, there is no denying that Apple's A16 Bionic and other high-end Snapdragon chips would be well ahead of the 8300. In real life, however, folks with casual workloads and lightweight gaming requirements should be well served by Lenovo Idea Tab Pro.
At the front, the tablet packs a 12.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,944 by 1,840. This allows for a pretty impressive pixel density of over 270 PPI. Our detailed review of the tablet confirms that the display covers 98% of the sRGB color gamut, although its color accuracy is mediocre, with a ΔE of around 3.4. Brightness peaks out at 400 nits, which is acceptable for SDR playback, but may be a struggle outdoors on sunny days.
The 144 Hz refresh rate is definitely welcome, especially for gamers. Needless to say, the IPS panel cannot keep up with the OLEDs and mini-LEDs of the world when it comes to contrast.
Compared to OLEDs, response times are also a lot worse, but usable. That said, most people using the tablet day-to-day will hardly find any room for complaint when it comes to its display, especially considering the price.
The IdeaTab Pro also features:
- 13-megapixel rear camera
- 8-megapixel shooter at the front
- Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6
- Quad-speaker setup with a surprisingly decent audio experience
- Included Tab Pen Plus stylus with tilt and pressure sensitivity
- LDAC, aptX HD support among others
Potential customers interested in the tablet are invited to check out our detailed review of the product before making up their mind. Considering its current price and the features on offer, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro certainly appears to be a decent choice for folks with casual productivity and consumption requirements.
