Lenovo reveals key cellular features of its upcoming OLED gaming tablet

Earlier in 2026, Lenovo launched the Legion Y700 Gen 5 in China as a small flagship tablet without cellular connectivity. The company has recently teased a new gaming tab, which is shown to be more compact than the model that was previously released.
This small gaming tablet is expected to feature an OLED display, an upgrade over the IPS panel on the Y700 Gen 5. It's also confirmed to come with 5G connectivity, and Lenovo has just detailed the cellular features of the device.
As Lenovo shares, there will be support for dual-SIM standby, and among the two, one of them can be a physical SIM, while the other will be an eSIM. The company further highlights that the gaming tablet supports the N79 band, a high-speed 5G mid-band known for fast data rates and low latency.
Another key cellular feature showcased by Lenovo is "multi-antenna distributed design." The company highlights that there are multiple antennas surrounding the body of the tablet, ensuring that the reception remains strong regardless of the way the device is held.
While Lenovo didn't specify it, one of the shared pictures shows the front of the tablet, and it reveals the punch hole cutout on the display. The regular Y700 2026, which launched in the global market as the Legion Tab Gen 5 (curr. $699.99 on Lenovo), didn't have any cutouts on the display. So, this could be seen as a downgrade, but this design choice may have allowed the company to shrink the bezel size a little.
Other details of the gaming tablet have yet to be confirmed by the company, but Lenovo is expected to share most about the device before the August 2026 China launch.
