Timex brings back its 1981 design in the US for $199

Timex has launched the END. x Timex 1981 Reissue Inspired watch in the US, a collaboration with menswear retailer END. built around 1980s tennis watch design. The watch has a small case and a dial with a vintage look, part of a broader movement to make watches smaller.
It measures 35mm across, 8.5mm thick, and is made of brushed and polished stainless steel with a gently octagonal bezel. The dial is finished in a sunray ice blue with a subtle globe etching, applied markers instead of printed numerals, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.
It comes with a matching 16mm stainless-steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp. The back has a custom engraving of the END. logo with a tiger design. It’s driven by a quartz movement with an SR920SW battery, and it’s protected by mineral crystal, not sapphire. Water resistance is 50 meters, good for rain or light swimming, but not for diving.
The END. x Timex 1981 Reissue Inspired is priced at $199 and is available directly through Timex's US website. It follows Timex's recent release of the Marlin GMT, a titanium watch with an automatic movement.
Casio is preparing a smaller update of its own. The company is reportedly adding two new colorways to its ABL-100 Vintage line, with a navy dial version called the ABL-100WE-2A and a grey dial version called the ABL-100WE-7A, both expected to go on sale later in the month. The changes are cosmetic only, with the same hardware as the existing ABL-100 models.
Casio has not confirmed pricing for the new colorways. The original silver and gold ABL-100 models launched in the US at $79.95 and $99.95, respectively. The two new additions should ideally fall in the same price categories.
