Timex launches 3 new Automatic E Line watches with Miyota movements and exhibition casebacks
Timex has added a larger version of its E Line dress watch to its US and UK sites. Thanks to this new variant, the rounded-square "TV Dial" case goes from 34 mm up to 38 mm. Three references are listed: TW6A00500 with a silver-tone dial and steel bracelet at $379, TW6A00700 with a teal dial at the same price, and TW6A00600 in two-tone with a gold-tone bezel at $399. The two-tone version is in stock; the other two are currently available to pre-order.
All three versions have a case measuring 38 mm across, 45.5 mm lug-to-lug and 12.5 mm thick. They come in brushed and polished stainless steel. Inside is a Miyota 8215 automatic with 21 jewels and around 40 hours of reserve. Furthermore, the movement is visible through an exhibition caseback. Dials have a horizontal texture, applied hour markers and a date window at three o'clock. Water resistance is 50 meters, and the bracelet closes with a butterfly deployant clasp. Timex's spec list shows a flat mineral glass crystal, although feature copy on two of the pages refers to acrylic instead.
The name has changed slightly as well. The 34 mm version sells as the Automatic 1983 E Line, while the new one drops the year. Timex itself describes it as an update inspired by the earlier reissue; not a fresh look at the 1983 original.
Pricing-wise, the 34 mm sits between $259 and $299, which puts the 38 mm roughly $80 to $140 above it for the same movement and water resistance. The extra buys a deployant clasp in place of an expansion band, plus the exhibition back and textured dial.
Three 30 mm Quartz E Line watches also went live alongside them, starting at $269. Timex has not issued a press release; the listings appeared on 10 August.
