Timex launches two new field watches with stainless steel cases and camo dials

Timex has expanded its Expedition Sierra lineup in the US by introducing two new field watches: the TW2Y89500 and the TW2Y89400. Design-wise, the Sierra models look pretty much similar to the recently launched Hamilton Khaki Field Watch Reserve. Both models feature a 40 mm brushed stainless steel case, which measures 11 mm (0.43-inch) in thickness, with a lug-to-lug distance of 47 mm. 

Interestingly, the American watch manufacturer packs camo dials in both models. The TW2Y89500 has a green camo dial paired with the same green-colored fabric strap, while the TW2Y89400 features a tan camo dial with a khaki strap. Unfortunately, you won’t get a sapphire crystal here; instead, Timex offers a standard mineral crystal, which does provide basic scratch resistance, though. 

Apart from the design, you get the same hardware on both Timex field watches. It’s worth noting that these field watches come with a quartz movement, which is powered by an SR626SW battery. The cell is rated to offer up to three years of battery life. As for the dial, the watch's dial is adorned with lume-coated analog hands and Arabic numerals. Plus, there’s a date window positioned at 3 o’clock and an inner 5-to-60-minute track. In addition to the lume, both watches come with Timex’s Indiglo backlight, which further enhances readability in low-light conditions. 

Furthermore, the TW2Y89500 and the TW2Y89400 models are rated at 100 m (10 bar) water resistance, meaning they can be fine for light water sports activities. Timex offers a double-layered, slip-through fabric strap design for both models. 

As for price, the Timex TW2Y89500 and the TW2Y89400 are priced at $149 each. Interested buyers can now purchase these latest models directly from Timex US’ official website.
