Out of the 4 Timex Waterbury Classics (pictured), the TW2Y92100 is already out of stock.
Timex has refreshed the Waterbury Classic with a textured dial and a sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock, dropping the central seconds hand entirely. Four 39 mm quartz references are listed, with leather from $189 and bracelets at $219 and $239.

Timex has updated the Waterbury Classic with a textured dial and a sub-seconds register. The sweeping central seconds hand have been replaced on the outgoing 39 mm version. Four references are listed on the US site, all in stock except the brown leather version.

The two bracelet options are TW2Y91800 at $219, which has a white textured dial with a metallic blue handset and matching applied indices on a fully brushed and polished steel bracelet, and TW2Y91900 at $239, which uses gold-tone hands and markers on a two-tone bracelet. Two leather versions are priced below them at $189, including TW2Y92000 — this one comes on a black crocodile-grain strap sourced through the Leather Working Group.

All four have the same 39 mm polished stainless steel case measuring 46 mm lug-to-lug and 10 mm thick, with a 20 mm lug width and fitment for wrists between 150 mm and 205 mm. A slightly domed mineral glass crystal covers the dial. Inside, a battery-powered quartz caliber running on an SR626SW cell powers the watches. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres. The bracelet versions use a deployant clasp, which explains the $30 gap over the leather variants.

The sub-seconds layout is arguably the biggest change here. Moving the seconds display to a small register at 6 o'clock gives the dial a more traditional look and brings the Waterbury Classic closer to the Waterbury Traditional Sub-Second range that Timex already sells.

Pricing-wise, these are above the older Waterbury Classic references. While the older ones have been available in the $130 to $189 range, these step it up a notch. Those weighing the bracelet options against that automatic are choosing between a quartz caliber with a dressier dial and a mechanical movement at a $90 premium.

Timex has not published a separate announcement for the update, and the listings appeared on the US site during the first week of August.
