Timex adds two elegant, time-only watches to its Weekender New England collection

If the recently released 40mm Weekender Chronographs aren’t your cup of tea, Timex has also released two time-only watches in the Weekender New England collection for those looking for simple, clean aesthetics in a compact form factor.

The new Weekender New England models, dubbed TW2Y86600 and TW2Y86500, strip things back to the basics with a 34mm case, three-hand quartz movement, and an uncluttered cream dial. TW2Y86600 features a gold-tone case paired with a cream dial and black leather strap, while TW2Y86500 swaps in a silver-tone case and dark green leather strap.

Both watches lean heavily into the Weekender’s familiar casual styling, with full Arabic numerals around the dial and a minute track along the outer edge. The hour and minute hands are filled with lume, too, giving the watches some much-needed legibility when the lights go down. A slim seconds hand completes the straightforward layout.

The 34mm case, which is made from low-lead brass, measures 39.5mm from lug to lug and 9mm thick, making these considerably more compact than the recently released 40mm Weekender New England Chronographs.

Timex keeps the Weekender’s interchangeable strap setup intact. Thanks to the slip-through design, the double-layered leather straps are really easy to change, allowing you to swap them out without much fuss when you want to change up the look. Both come with a traditional buckle and an 18mm lug width.

Under the hood, a battery-powered quartz analog movement keeps things ticking, while 50-meter water resistance safeguards the watch against splashes and light swimming. The crown gets Timex’s small “we.” logo, a playful reminder of the collection’s weekend-at-any-time ethos.

Timex's time-only 34mm Weekender New England watches are priced at $139 / £110 and are available for purchase directly from Timex's online store and authorized dealers. For comparison, the recently released Weekender New England Chronographs carry a $189 / £165 price tag.
