Timex has launched the Peanuts x Expedition Scout at $129. It replaces the usual 24-hour scale with compass point markers. The TW2Y84800 scores a light blue Snoopy dial with a 40 mm brushed case, mineral crystal, date window and 50 m water resistance.

Timex's Expedition dials usually have a 24-hour scale printed inside the hours. The new Peanuts x Timex Expedition Scout does something else with that space: it marks the four compass points instead, with N, E, S and W sitting at 12, three, six and nine.

The reference is TW2Y84800, priced at $129. It launched alongside two Peanuts Expedition Acadia references at $119 (which we covered here). The $10 gap appears to come down to the case. Timex describes the Acadia as using a lightweight resin case; it makes no such claim here, and the Scout's case is finished in brushed silver-tone metal.

The dial is light blue. We see Snoopy walking a trail in Beagle Scout gear, a pack on his shoulders and Woodstock following behind carrying his own. Pine trees frame both sides. Full Arabic numerals run the hours in cream, plus a dotted blue minute track circles the outside.

One detail is a little odd in this one. The Timex wordmark is pushed down and to the left, around eight o'clock, rather than under 12. This is presumably intended to keep the artwork clear and obstruction-free.

The case measures 40 mm across and 10.5 mm thick, with a 48 mm lug-to-lug span and 20 mm lugs. Water resistance is 50 meters, and it's printed on the dial. The crystal is mineral. A battery-powered quartz analog movement runs the watch. There's a date window at three and luminous fill on the hands and markers. Retailers quote roughly two years from the cell.

The strap is grooved silicone in dark teal. It's fitted with quick-release spring bars that come off without tools. The Scout is now listed on Timex's US, UK, EU and Canadian stores.
