The Peanuts x Timex Marlin 1965 Reissue Inspired Snoopy Tennis is listed at $219 with a tennis ball that rotates as the seconds hand. The 34 mm TW2Y12500 pairs a gold-tone case with an acrylic crystal, and has been on pre-order since June.

The recently unveiled Peanuts x Timex Marlin 1965 Reissue Inspired Snoopy Tennis has a rotating tennis ball where the seconds hand should be. The TW2Y12500 is listed at $219 on Timex's US, UK and Canadian stores, where it has been open for pre-order since late June.

It arrived pretty quietly. Timex made no launch announcement. Snoopy shows up on the dial as The World-Famous Tennis Player, caught mid-serve against a denim-print background. The tennis ball sweeping the face as the seconds hand is the only part of the theme that moves; everything else is printed normally.

The case is 34 mm gold-tone polished stainless steel, roughly 10 mm tall, with 18 mm lugs and a listed weight of 33 grams. The crystal is acrylic — Timex uses it across its Marlin and Q collections for the period-correct dome. It scratches relatively easily, but buffs out with polish.

Water resistance is 30 m, which the company qualifies as hand-washing and splashes rather than swimming. The denim fabric strap rests on quick-release bars and fits wrists between 150 and 205 mm. The movement is quartz. However, no caliber has been published.

Two other Snoopy Tennis Marlins also launched alongside it; they're both hand-wound. The TW2V63300 is limited to 500 pieces with a numbered caseback, and the TW2V88800 on a green dial. This one shares the artwork and the collection name but is neither mechanical nor numbered, which is worth knowing before looking this reference up.
