Timex has delayed the Huckberry x Timex Deepwater Reef 200 on its launch day, saying a final quality check found the dive watch did not meet its standards. No new date has been given, and specifications were never published.

Timex has paused the launch of the Huckberry x Timex Deepwater Reef 200, which had been scheduled to go on sale today.

The company posted the delay to its Instagram Story on Thursday (see below). They said that a final quality check found the watch did not meet its standards and that it would hold the release while the issue was addressed. No new date was given, and Timex did not say what the check found.

The diver was teased earlier in the week — apparel brand Huckberry invited US customers to sign up for SMS alerts for early access. That teaser showed a sunburst brown dial on a matching strap and an oversized rotating bezel with a distressed finish. The dial had circular and rectangular hour markers, a luminous pip at 12, and a date window at three under a magnifying lens. The red Deepwater logo is visible above a 200m/660ft marking.

Specifications were never published. The teaser dial appeared to not include the "Automatic" line usually carried by other mechanical references in the range. This indicates the watch will come with a quartz movement, though nothing was confirmed.

The standard Deepwater Reef 200 arrived in October 2024 as Timex's first collection built to ISO dive standards, which required a screw-down crown and caseback, sapphire with anti-reflective coating and Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers. Steel quartz references usually sell for $239 and $269, while the titanium automatic sells for $559 on rubber and $689 on the bracelet.

Timex says it will share a new date when it can.
