Timex and Beams combine two vintage watch designs for limited-edition Square Camper

Timex and Beams have released the Square Camper, a limited-edition watch that combines the analogue dial of the Original Camper with the rectangular case and digital-watch styling of the Classic Digital. It was created to celebrate BEAMS' 50th anniversary, and the unique watch is limited to 500 pieces. On Beams’ website, it is available in two colourways: silver and gold.

Beams opted to make the exterior from new moulds instead of using an existing Timex model case. Its shape is based on the Timex Classic Digital, but instead of an LCD, the Square Camper uses the analogue dial and hands associated with the Original Camper. Elements resembling the Classic Digital's display are printed onto the inside of the crystal, creating the appearance of an analogue watch sitting underneath a digital display.

The Square Camper comes with an adjustable stainless-steel expansion bracelet, while the back of the case features special Timex and Beams branding, along with a "Limited 500 pieces" engraving. Beams has also prepared special packaging for the anniversary model. The watch features a brass case, an acrylic crystal, and a stainless-steel bracelet. Inside is a Japanese-made quartz movement. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres, and the watch weighs approximately 65 g

Beams initially announced the collaboration on July 24 and opened pre-orders on the same day. General sales began in Japan on August 15 through the BEAMS online store and participating retail locations. The silver Square Camper is priced at ¥23,980 (around $151), while the gold version costs ¥26,400 ($166). For now, there’s no word about an international release, and given the number of units produced, it seems implausible.
