Timex briefly reveals two new Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic watches before pulling announcement

Timex has briefly posted, then quickly pulled, an announcement for two new Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic dive watches. The now-unavailable September 4 blog post introduced the TW3A01600 and TW3A01700, both of which several retailers already list despite not yet being widely available.

Both watches use a 44 mm stainless-steel case, are rated to 200 metres of water resistance, and come with a screw-down crown, screw-on case back, and a unidirectional ratcheting bezel with a ceramic insert. Like the Deepwater Meridian 300 HEV unveiled last month, they feature an automatic helium escape valve positioned near 10 o'clock.

The Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic also gets an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and Super-LumiNova coating on the hands and hour markers. Both dial options use vertical brushing, with the TW3A01600 getting a silver-white finish and stainless-steel bracelet. The TW3A01700 instead combines a metallic blue dial with a perforated HNBR synthetic rubber strap. The attachments use quick-release spring bars. Inside is a Miyota 8215 automatic movement with 21 jewels and an advertised power reserve of up to 40 hours. The movement can also be manually wound through the crown.

While Timex's original announcement is no longer accessible, retailer listings provide additional evidence that the two watches are heading to market. Holland Watch Group currently lists both models as part of Timex's Fall/Winter 2026 range and marks them as "Coming Soon". Indian retailer Good Times by Sai Creations has also published listings for the TW3A01700UJ and TW3A01600, respectively, indicating that product information had begun circulating before Timex's short-lived announcement.

Pricing varies by market and configuration. Indian listings put the TW3A01700 at ₹44,995 ($476), while the bracelet-equipped TW3A01600 has been listed at ₹49,995 ($529). Holland Watch Group currently lists the TW3A01700 at $498 and the TW3A01600 at $531, with import duties included in both prices.

For now, the curious part is the timing. Timex's September 4 post explicitly described the Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic as new, yet the announcement subsequently disappeared. That suggests the watches themselves are real and close to release, but Timex may have published the formal reveal earlier than intended. Then again, Timex is no stranger to mothballing watch launches it doesn't like, as proven by the recent Huckberry x Timex Deepwater Reef 200 cancellation.
