Timex's new ice-blue Marlin is an affordable full metal GMT with slick blue accents

Timex has a recently launched GMT in its Marlin line that it has barely acknowledged. The TW2Y84100 comes with an ice blue dial with a two-tone 24-hour ring in blue and brown, and it has been sitting on retailer shelves since June without a press release, a launch post, or coverage anywhere.

Amazon's US listing for $271 goes back to 11 June. Holland Watch Group (an official Timex dealer) has it in stock at $254 with import duties included and files it under Timex's 2026 Fall/Winter catalogue. Indian dealers have it listed at ₹15,995, currently out of stock. For some reason, an official Timex product page is still missing in the markets where the watch is actually selling.

This new one follows the Marlin GMTs Timex launched in August last year at $199 to $239. The format is pretty much the same. The case is 40 mm of polished stainless steel, 14 mm thick, with a snap-on back and a pull crown. Timex has used an acrylic crystal rather than mineral glass, presumably to keep the cost down. The company rates the watch to 5 bar.

The watch runs on Timex's M08S quartz powered by a common SR920SW cell. It hacks, which is pretty neat at this price, and drives a fourth hand with a slick blue and white triangular tip against a 24-hour scale split between a light upper half and a brown lower half. The date is at three o'clock.

The bracelet is made of solid link steel, and it comes in brushed and polished finish. Also, it's 20 mm at the lugs and tapers to 18 mm at a push-button deployant clasp. Holland Watch Group quotes a fit range of 160 to 220 mm.
