Timex expands Cavatina Mini lineup with three new leather-strap watches

Timex has expanded its Cavatina Mini lineup with three new leather-strap watches. The new TW2Y87700, TW2Y87800, and TW2Y87900 retain the same tiny 17 mm case as the existing stainless-steel bracelet-equipped Cavatina Mini TW2Y47300 and TW2Y47400, but swap the bracelets for crocodile-grain natural leather straps in three colours.
The TW2Y87700 combines a polished gold-tone cushion-shaped case with a champagne dial and brown leather strap. Meanwhile, the TW2Y87900 uses the same case and dial combination with a much more conspicuous red strap. Lastly, the TW2Y87800 takes the look up a notch with a polished silver-tone case, white dial, and black leather strap. All three watches feature full Arabic numerals, three hands and Timex's 1960s-style script logo. The straps are made from natural leather with a crocodile-grain finish and measure just 8 mm wide.
Otherwise, very little has changed compared to the existing Cavatina Mini lineup. The cushion-shaped case measures 17 mm across and approximately 8 mm thick, with a domed mineral crystal protecting the dial. Timex's battery-powered M288 quartz movement makes it tick. Furthermore, it uses an SR521SW/R379 cell and displays conventional hours, minutes, and seconds. Water resistance is limited to 3 ATM, so the watches are intended to withstand little more than occasional splashes.
US pricing appears to be unknown at the time of writing due to the lack of listings on Timex's official website. Meanwhile, European retailer Ocarat has listed the TW2Y87700 at €119, the TW2Y87800 at €109 and the TW2Y87900 at €119.
