Casio’s new G-Shock watch with step tracking now available in more markets

Casio has officially listed the G-Shock GBA-9501A on its UK website. The sporty model joins the GBA-950-7A (white finish with a blue dial) and the GBA-950-9A (yellow-green finish with a dark dial) in the brand's G-Squad roster. Originally introduced in 2025, the watch is designed for runners and fitness enthusiasts. The GBA-950-1A builds on the earlier GBA-900 watches, which debuted in 2021. 

Dimensionally, it measures 48.5 x 43.9 x 16 mm (1.9 x 1.7 x 0.6 inches) and weighs around 53 grams (~0.12 lbs). In contrast, it is slightly lighter and thinner than the GBA-900, which comes in at 16.6 mm (0.7 inches) thickness and 61 grams (0.13 lbs) weight. The digital-analog watch pairs with the Casio smartphone app via app, which further unlocks several features such as automatic time adjustment and GPS-assisted distance compatibility. You can also view a data log directly in the companion app. Plus, the data can be shared with Strava. 

Furthermore, the watch has a shock-resistant resin case paired with a bio-based resin band. There is a black dial, which is adorned with Neobrite hour markers, 2 analog hands, and a digital display. Other practical features include dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, and an LED backlight to help you read the display in low-light conditions. A CR2025 cell powers the watch, which is said to offer 2 years of battery life. On top of these features, the timepiece is also water resistant to 200 m (20 bar), making it suitable for light water sports activities. 

The Casio G-Shock GBA-950-1A is priced at £130. Interested buyers can sign up on Casio’s website to be noticed when the watch becomes available.
