Casio’s new hybrid vintage watch with sunray dial now available in more markets

Casio UK has now officially listed its new vintage watch, the AQ-230GA-3AMQY. Alongside, Casio also introduced three new references under the AQ-240 lineup, which already covered them separately, and you can read about it here. The timepiece combines the vintage character of the AQ-230 series with a sunray-finish dial and a gold-tone stainless steel bracelet, giving the watch’s classic design a more colorful look.
The dial elements of the watch are pretty much similar to the AQ-240EG-3A. You get a deep green sunray dial, which is adorned with gold-finished hour markers, two analog hands, and a small digital display positioned at 6 o’clock. The watch measures 38.8 x 29.8 x 8.1 mm (1.53 x 1.17 x 0.32) and weighs just 47 grams (1.66 oz). The chrome-plated finish case is paired with a stainless steel band and adjustable clasp.
Furthermore, the digital display shows everything from the time and seconds to day, date, and month. The AQ-230GA-3AMQY offers several practical functions, including a 1/100-second stopwatch, daily alarm, hourly time signal, dual-time functionality, and an automatic calendar. Casio rates its accuracy at ±30 seconds per month, while the SR920W cell is claimed to offer around three years of battery life.
The digital-analog watch is water resistant for everyday use, although Casio doesn’t reveal a depth rating on its product page. What we know is that the timepiece supports 12- and 24-hour formats. As for price, the Casio AQ-230GA-3AMQY is priced at £64.90. It’s currently listed as available soon on Casio UK’s website. It’s expected to be released later this month.
