Casio debuts 3 new titanium Oceanus OCW-P3000 watches with ceramic world-time bezels

Casio has made the Oceanus OCW-P3000 official. The company has confirmed a 16 October release in Japan for three references, where it's reviving the dormant Cachalot sports line. The watch was just leaked online a few days back.

The blue OCW-P3000-2AJF and green OCW-P3000-3AJF are 220,000 yen (~$1,409) including tax. The DLC-treated black OCW-P3000B-1AJF is 253,000 yen (~$1,620). Reports ahead of the announcement had the trio at 200,000, 200,000 and 220,000 yen, so Casio's actual figures are almost 10 to 15 percent higher.

The USP here is a time zone navigator. City codes ring the outer edge of the dial; holding the button at ten o'clock swings the second hand to whichever city is at midnight, and aligning the bezel's triangle with that city turns the 24-hour scale into a readout of the current hour in every city printed around the dial. The bezel insert is ceramic, and its 24-hour track is split into two tones at 6 am and 6 pm so you can separate day and night at a glance. The second hand's tip changes colour to mark the home city.

Underneath is Tough MVT. 2, which Casio says appears in Oceanus for the first time. It corrects hand position automatically after an impact. When it detects a strong magnetic field, it halts the hands entirely; it resumes once the field clears.

Case and bezel are titanium with ceramic. It's finished with titanium carbide on the two steel-coloured references and DLC on the black. The case measures 47.6 by 42.9 by 11.7 mm and the watch weighs 99 g on its solid titanium bracelet. Sapphire is double-sided anti-reflective, and Tough Solar runs about five months in use from a full charge, or 23 months in power saving. Time correction comes from Multiband 6 radio and Bluetooth.

Also, please note that water resistance is 10 bar. Earlier Cachalots included ISO-rated 200 m divers. This is not one of them.
