Casio's new titanium Oceanus OCW-P3000 leaked with rotating bezel, reviving a dormant line

A new Oceanus model has surfaced ahead of any announcement from Casio. Great G-Shock World reports having seen the OCW-P3000, a three-reference series fitted with a newly developed rotating bezel and slated for an October release in Japan.

The line it belongs to is quite interesting. Oceanus has a flagship Manta range and an entry-level Classic range, and alongside them, we had an older sports line called Cachalot. It became kind of dormant when its models were discontinued. The OCW-P3000 would be a revival. Cachalot has form: the OCW-P1000 featured a rotating bezel with a yacht timer, and the OCW-P2000 of 2020 was Oceanus's first ISO-rated 200 m diver, built in titanium at Casio's Yamagata premium production line.

Three references will be supposedly unveiled. The OCW-P3000-2AF and OCW-P3000-3AF will both be priced at 200,000 yen, the first with a blue-and-black two-tone bezel of the sort collectors call a "Batman", the second with a plain black bezel. A blacked-out OCW-P3000B-1AF is even more expensive than them at 220,000 yen. Those come to about $1,300 and $1,430.

The watches will be powered by Tough MVT. 2, the second generation of Casio's radio-solar movement platform, bringing radio correction, Tough Solar charging and a Bluetooth link. The report describes a function tying the rotating bezel to world time but states the details are unconfirmed, and the images show city codes printed around the bezel rather than a dive scale, which would better suit a travel function instead of a marine one.

Casio has published nothing: no specifications, no dimensions, no water resistance rating, and no word on whether the series will sell outside Japan. Oceanus distribution for some special models has been limited to Japan and parts of Asia in the past.
