Casio's Bluetooth step-tracker F-B100W sells out in the UK; this one retailer still has stock

Casio's UK store has now sold out of both F-B100W references. The black F-B100W-1A cleared roughly a week after sales opened on 17 August, and the teal F-B100W-3A was available for a fortnight longer before following it. Neither is orderable from Casio in Britain.

Stock does exist elsewhere, however. F.Hinds is a high-street jeweler trading since 1856 and an authorized Casio stockist. It has the black reference listed as F-B100W-1AEF at 55 pounds, the same price Casio charged, under product code W17634 and tagged as just in. The listing adds to basket and quotes delivery from 15 September, with UK shipping free above 24.99 pounds. It was the only British retailer we found holding the watch. That EF suffix is the European market code, so a search for the bare Casio reference can miss it entirely.

The teal reference is on there as well. The negative-display F-B100W-1B was never listed in the UK at all. Casio has not said whether it will restock either color, and no US release has been confirmed. The pattern is pretty easy to percieve now. The series launched in Japan on 7 August at 8,800 yen and cleared Casio's own store the same day.

What 55 pounds buys you is an F-91W with a motion sensor and a Bluetooth chip. The watch measures 41.9 by 38.1 by 8.8 mm, weighs 26 g and is moulded from bio-based resin, with ventilation slits added beneath an otherwise familiar strap. It counts to 999,999 steps, plots them on a six-level hourly graph, accepts daily goals between 1,000 and 50,000 steps, and prompts the wearer after long idle spells. The companion app handles automatic time setting along with world time for roughly 300 cities. Battery life is about two years from a CR2016, against seven for a standard F-91W (curr. $25 on Amazon).
