iQOO reveals key display specs of its upcoming OnePlus 16 rival

iQOO is set to launch at least two performance-focused devices at the end of September 2026 in China. One of them is the Pad Ultra, expected to rival future gaming tablet releases from Lenovo Legion and RedMagic, and the other is the iQOO 16, which is set to rival the OnePlus 16 in the Chinese market.

Previously, the company revealed the redesigned back of the iQOO 16, showcasing a different-looking camera island than the one found on the predecessor. Now, the brand has detailed the display specs of the upcoming OnePlus 16 rival, and the screen seems to be a proper upgrade over the display found on the iQOO 15.

Specifically, the brand is presenting the iQOO 16 as the first phone in the industry to feature a "2K" display with a 165Hz refresh rate. As the company notes, the device features an M16 Samsung OLED panel, capable of reaching 2,800 nits, with the local peak brightness being said to be 10,000 nits.

The high refresh rate is paired with the company's Q-Flex technology, bringing up to 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling and up to 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. All these should lead to a responsive gaming experience on the iQOO 16, which is expected to be further backed by the flagship SoC inside.

Other than that, the brand highlights that the display has a wide DCI-P3 color gamut, 508 PPI pixel density, DC dimming, and high power efficiency. All these could make the iQOO 16 stand as a solid competitor against the upcoming rivals like the RedMagic 12 series and OnePlus 16 (16/512GB OnePlus 15 curr. $907.81 on TradingShenzhen).
