Timex launches new analog watch with field-watch-inspired design and black dial
Timex has expanded its Easy Reader lineup in India with a new TW2Y12800JQ model that takes inspiration from classic field watches. The Timex TW2Y12800JQ features a compact 38 mm silver-tone brass case, measuring 9 mm (0.35 inches) in thickness. The case of the watch is paired with a black dial and matching black leather strap with a buckle clasp.
The timepiece’s black dial is adorned with traditional hour markers, which is complemented by a 24-hour scale. A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, while Timex’s signature Indiglow backlight offers better visibility in darker conditions. Unfortunately, there’s no day complication here. These elements give the watch some of the practical styling associated with field watches, although the US watchmaker categorizes the model under its Easy Reader collection.
Furthermore, the TW2Y12800JQ is powered by a quartz movement. Timex doesn’t disclose the exact movement name and manufacturer. There’s a mineral glass on top of the dial, which offers basic scratch resistance. It offers 30 m (3 bar) water resistance, making it primarily suited to everyday use rather than demanding water sports activities such as swimming and snorkling.
The company also offers the watch in a gold-tone case paired with a brown natural leather strap. As for price, the Timex TW2Y12800JQ is priced at ₹9,995 ($104.08). Buyers can purchase the watch directly from Timex India’s official website. At the time of writing, Timex hasn’t yet provided any details about availability in other markets.
