Casio’s new affordable diver watches with aluminum bezels reach more markets

Casio has officially listed three new diver-style watches under the MTD-145D lineup in the UK. The MTD-145D lineup consists of a total of three models, the MTD-145D-1AV, the MTD-145D-2AV, and the MTD-145D-3AV. The three models mainly differ in their bezel and dial color schemes.

The MTD-145D-1AV has a classic black design, while the MTD-145D-2AV comes with a blue color finish, and the MTD-145D-3AV uses green. The watches measure 47.5 x 43.2 x 10.3 mm (1.87 x 1.70 x 0.41 inches) and weigh 128 grams (4.51 ounces). All three models feature a stainless steel case and bracelet complemented by a rotating aluminum bezel. A one-touch three-fold clasp secures the steel bracelet, while the watches have a screw-lock case back. 

Despite their diver-style appearance, Casio’s MTD-145D series watches are rated for 50 m (5 bar) water resistance rather than the higher ratings commonly found in dedicated dive watches, such as the Casio MDV-107D-1A3V (curr. at $110 on Amazon). These analog watches have simple and minimalist dial elements, featuring three hands, hour markers, and a date window. 

Moreover, a mineral glass crystal covers the dial, which offers basic scratch resistance. Casio’s affordable diver watches use a quartz movement with an advertised accuracy of ±20 seconds per month and an estimated battery life of around three years from an SR920SW cell. As for price, the Casio MTD-145D-1AV, the MTD-145D-2AV, and the MTD-145D-3AV are priced at £85 each. While Casio has now confirmed UK pricing through its website, buyers will have to wait for the watches to become available to purchase.
