Casio’s new G-shock watch with step tracking goes on sale in UK
Earlier this month, Casio listed the G-Shock GBA-950-1A on its UK website. Now, the company’s new G-Shock model is available for purchase in the UK for £130. Originally introduced in 2025, the watch is designed for runners and fitness enthusiasts. It retains the same build from the original GBA-900 watches, which debuted in 2021. However, dimensionally, it’s lighter and thinner than the GBA-900.
Speaking more precisely, the GBA-950-1A measures 16 mm (0.6 inches) in thickness and weighs 53 grams (1.86 ounces). In contrast, the GBA-900 comes in at 16.6 mm (0.7 inches) thickness and 61 grams (2.15 ounces) weight. The shock-resistant resin case is paired with a bio-based resin band with a buckle clasp.
The timepiece ships with a black dial adorned with Neobrite hour markers, 2 analog hands, and a digital display. Furthermore, it also has support for the Casio smartphone companion app, which further enables several features, such as phone finder, activity history, and automatic time adjustment. You can also view a data log directly on the companion app. Like its other siblings, the GBA-950-1A carries Strava compatibility.
Practical features include 5 daily alarms, a countdown timer, a 1/100-second stopwatch, dual time across 300 world time cities, 200 m (20 bar) water resistance, and an LED backlight to help you read the display in low-light scenarios. The watch is said to offer 2 years of battery life with its CR2025 cell. The lifelog system tracks calorie burn, step count, and distance throughout the day. Interestingly, you can also monitor daily data directly through the dial.
