Timex revives 1966 Skin Diver with new Heritage 66 watch

Timex has officially launched the Bespoke Post x Timex Heritage 66, a new watch based on the company's 1966 Skin Diver. The new model features a 40 mm stainless steel case measuring 12 mm thick, paired with a black dial and a unidirectional aluminium bezel for tracking elapsed time. Timex has also equipped the watch with a screw-down crown and rated it for 200 metres of water resistance, making the retro styling more than purely cosmetic.

The dial keeps things relatively simple, with luminous hands and hour markers, plus a date window at 3 o'clock. A mineral glass crystal sits above the dial rather than sapphire, while the watch weighs 73.3 g and uses a conventional battery-powered quartz analogue movement. Timex equips the Bespoke Post Heritage 66 with a quartz analogue movement, and the specifications list an SR621SW battery.

Timex and Bespoke Post have added a few details to distinguish the collaboration. Bespoke Post branding is engraved into the crown, while the case back carries an engraving of a skin diver inspired by advertising used for the original 1966 watch. The Heritage 66 is also sold as a gift set. You get an orange double-layer fabric slip-through strap together with a black HNBR rubber alternative. Both fit the watch's 20 mm lugs, and Timex says the interchangeable straps use quick-release spring bars.

The Bespoke Post x Timex Heritage 66, model TWG069200, is available now through Timex for $300 in the US and £225 in the UK. The launch follows Timex's recent run of archive-derived releases, although the Heritage 66 stands out with its relatively substantial 200 m water-resistance rating and distinctly late-1960s skin-diver aesthetic.
