Timex unveils new ultra-lightweight, compact watches with minimalistic dials in 3 colorways

Timex has launched three new leather-strap Cavatina Minis. They are on sale now, and the American price has landed higher than anywhere else.
All three went live on the US, UK and European stores at midnight on 6 October. TW2Y87900 uses a gold-tone case and champagne dial with a red crocodile-grain strap. TW2Y87800 goes silver and white on black. TW2Y87700 keeps the gold and champagne and switches to brown.
Americans pay $129 for the red one and $119 for the black. Britain asks £105 and Europe €119 for that same red reference. Those look like an ordinary prices until you take the tax out. The British price comes to about $116 before tax, the European one to roughly $113, which leaves the US sitting $13 to $16 above both. State sales tax then goes on top of the American figure.
The watch itself has not changed since Timex announced the line last month. The case measures 17 mm across in a cushion shape, 8 mm deep, 25 mm lug to lug. The whole thing weighs 12 grams, which is less than a house key. Low lead brass sits under the gold-tone and silver-tone plating, and a domed mineral crystal covers a softly brushed dial carrying full Arabic numerals and a 1960s script Timex logo.
The strap is where the sustainability claim lives; this one is checkable. Timex sources the leather through the Leather Working Group rather than reaching for a vague adjective. It runs 8 mm wide on a buckle. To be fair, it's narrow enough that finding a replacement later will mean hunting.
Water resistance is 30 m. An M288 quartz movement runs the three hands off an SR521SW cell.
