Timex put Bugs Bunny on a mechanical watch
Timex’s Looney Tunes x M79 automatic watch pairs 1970s-inspired styling with a Bugs Bunny on the dial and a carrot-shaped seconds hand, housed in a 40mm stainless steel case. The model is currently available from Timex in India and select retailers in the UK and US.

Timex is once again leaning heavily into our collective nostalgia. Following up on the Space Jam x Q Timex limited edition launched in May, the Waterbury watchmaker has just dropped a brand-new Looney Tunes collaboration. This time around, the cunning rabbit who always stays one step ahead is taking over the Timex M79, one of the brand's most recognizable vintage-inspired watches.

The new Looney Tunes x Timex M79 (TW2Y99200X6) stays true to its 1970s dive aesthetics, featuring a 40mm stainless steel case paired with a unidirectional rotating gray bezel. However, the dial has received a playful twist.

It’s set against a crisp black backdrop and features Bugs Bunny in his signature laid-back pose with a carrot in hand above the six o'clock mark. But the absolute best detail is the sweeping second hand, which is designed to look like a bright orange and green rotating carrot.

The rest of the details are a pretty standard affair, with the dial featuring bold, luminous hour markers, Mercedes-style hands, and a neat day and date window sitting at the three o'clock position.

The Looney Tunes x Timex M79 is powered by a self-winding automatic movement, and you can actually see those tiny gears tick away through the exhibition case back. The caseback also features a prominent Looney Tunes logo. Timex doesn’t specify the movement, but it’s most likely using a Miyota automatic caliber.

The watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters and is offered with a stainless steel bracelet, equipped with a butterfly deployant clasp and quick-release spring bars.

Pricing & Availability

The new Looney Tunes x Timex M79 TW2Y99200 is available in India directly from Timex’s website for ₹35,995. It’s not yet listed on Timex’s US or UK websites, but a handful of authorized retailers already seem to have it in stock. In the UK, for example, H.Samuel is selling the watch for £310. Meanwhile, END. Clothing in the US lists the watch for $405.
