Timex launches day-date Waterbury Heritage Automatic with enamel dial and Miyota movement

Timex is expanding its Waterbury Heritage collection with a pair of automatic dress watches. Compared to the line’s flashier GMT and chronograph offerings, the new model keeps things simple with a classic three-hand dial. It’s also the first watch in the lineup to bring an automatic day-date function.

The Waterbury Heritage Automatic arrives in two variants: the TW2Y94200 with a glossy black enamel dial and the TW2Y94100 with a deep blue enamel dial. Both use a 39mm stainless-steel case with brushed and polished finishing, topped by a black or blue stationary ring. A double-domed K1 mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial.

As you can see, the dial here is quite clean, with no additional complications or scales cluttering the look. You get luminous baton-style hour and minute hands and a detailed minute track around the perimeter. And then there's the day-date display, which sits at 3 o’clock, while the Waterybury branding appears beneath 12 o’clock and “AUTOMATIC” text sits above 6 o’clock

The blue model pairs its dial with a fully silver-tone stainless-steel bracelet and matching case, while the black model goes for a two-tone look with gold-tone accents applied to hands, hour markers, crown, bezel details, and center links. The watch is offered on a stainless steel bracelet and comes with self-adjustable links, quick-release spring bars, and a butterfly clasp.

The new day-date Waterbury Heritage is powered by a Miyota 8205 automatic movement, and you can see its moving parts through the exhibition caseback. Timex doesn't quote power reserve or accuracy figures on the product page, but the 21-jewel movement is officially rated to deliver up to 42 hours of reserve when fully wound, with an accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds per day.

The Timex Waterbury Heritage Automatic with a day-date display is now available from the brand's online store and select authorized retailers in the US, UK, and Europe. Pricing starts at $449 / £375 / €429 for the blue model (TW2Y94100), with the two-tone variant coming in at $469 / £385 / €449.
