Timex unveils new Marlin automatic watch with vintage Tonneau case and black dial

Last week (September 5), Timex launched the Marline Tonneau TW2Y84300IK automatic watch in a white dial. Now, an American watch manufacturer has unveiled the Marline Tonneau TW2Y84500IK, albeit with a few tweaks. Hardware-wise, everything remains the same as the TW2Y84300IK model with only cosmetic changes to the case finish, dial, and strap.
Speaking more precisely, the TW2Y84300IK features a 36 mm gold-tone finished tonneau-shaped stainless steel case. In case you don’t know, a tonneau-shaped case is a distinct watch design characterized by a barrel-like silhouette. The black dial gives the watch a bolder look compared to the white dial model. The dial of the watch is adorned with Breguet-style numerals and slim hands, which gives the watch a vintage vibe.
Furthermore, a brown leather strap completes the watch. Plus, the leather strap comes with quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the exact caliber. What we know is that the Marlin Chatham Automatic is powered by a self-winding automatic movement, which is visible through the exhibition caseback.
There’s no stainless steel bracelet option from Timex. The mechanical watch has 50 m (5 bar) water resistance, which can handle normal water splashes. However, it’s not suitable for water sports activities such as swimming or snorkling.
As for price, the Timex Marline Tonneau TW2Y84500IK is priced at ₹21,995 (~$232). In contrast, the white dial model is ₹500 (~$5) cheaper at around ₹21,495 ($228) compared to the black-dial version. Buyers can purchase the watch directly from Timex India’s official website.
