Casio's stainless-steel moon phase watch finally debuts on the US store; Best Buy has it for much less

Casio has listed the MTP-M305L-7AV on its American store at $135. It is marked 'New' and 'Coming Soon' instead of being available to order. The watch is a moon phase, which is easily the defining complication on the face.

The dial has three hands and three subdials, tracking date, day and lunar phase, with the moon disc set into the lower half of a white face. The case is a polished stainless-steel cushion, 44.5 by 34 by 9.4 mm and 55 g, on a genuine leather strap. Water resistance is 50 m, the crystal is mineral, and accuracy is rated at plus or minus 20 seconds a month. A single SR621SW cell is quoted at roughly three years.

None of this is new outside the United States. The reference has been listed on Casio's international site and stocked by third-party sellers for around two years — there are hands-on video reviews on YouTube dating to May 2024. What's new is the American storefront.

Best Buy shows a comparable value of $102.87 on the same reference (curr. $99), eBay sellers have recently sold units at $120 including shipping from Hong Kong, and specialist dealers carry it below Casio's own figure. At $135, Casio's US listing is well above what the watch has been fetching elsewhere. It does come with US warranty coverage the grey-market routes do not.

Casio's American page gives the strap range as 175 to 215 mm and the case as 9.4 mm thick; its international page says 160 to 200 mm and 9.3 mm for what appears to be the same reference. The American figures would still suit larger wrists.
