Casio announces new streetwear collab G-Shock, ships in a box that says "Time is Money"

Casio is putting a gold DW-5600 in a box that reads "time is money." The DW-5600BEP-9, a BlackEyePatch collaboration, is now listed for a November release on Casio's international site.
The whole exterior is gold-tone, bezel and band together. They both come in a slightly metallic finish. Against that, the face is black, with the BlackEyePatch branding set above the display and the LCD digits rendered in gold to match. The buckle is gold-tone metal with a translucent keeper; the stainless caseback features the brand's logo engraved dead center, with module number on top, 3525.
The packaging does a lot of work in this collab. Casio ships the watch in a black box with the BlackEyePatch mark on the lid and "time is money" printed across the base.
Specs-wise, nothing changes from the case it borrows from. The case measures 48.9 by 42.8 by 13.4 mm and weighs 53 g, built from resin and bio-based resin with a bio-based resin band. Water resistance is 200 m, the crystal is mineral, and a CR2016 cell is rated at roughly five years. The module runs a 1/100-second stopwatch that switches to one-second increments past the hour, a 24-hour countdown timer with auto-repeat, a multi-function alarm, flash alert, and a white Super Illuminator backlight with afterglow. Accuracy is quoted at plus or minus 15 seconds a month.
BlackEyePatch has been working this territory since 2013, when it started as a sticker label pasted around Tokyo. The brand expanded into apparel with its 2015 autumn collection and opened up a Harajuku flagship in 2023.
Casio has not published a price as of writing. The previous BlackEyePatch square (the navy DW-5610BEP-2) launched in Japan at ¥17,600/~$115 in July 2024.
