Citizen launches two new limited-edition Attesa watches with Satellite Wave GPS and Super Titanium cases

Citizen has unveiled two new limited-edition Attesa Line watches to mark the 50th anniversary of the Eco-Drive lineup. The new Attesa CC4084-83Z Power of Green Flash and CC4085-81Z Power of Purple Aurora draw inspiration from rare natural light phenomena and pair Super Titanium construction with Citizen’s flagship Calibre F950 Satellite Wave GPS movement. Both are scheduled to launch on October 1, with production limited to 1,500 pieces per model worldwide.

The Attesa CC4084-83Z Power of Green Flash takes its cues from the brief green flash that can appear around sunrise or sunset. Citizen has placed a green structural-colour film beneath a black inkjet-printed layer on the dial, creating an effect intended to resemble green light spreading outward from its centre. The sapphire bezel ring also gets dark-green vapour deposition, with radial lines underneath intended to evoke multiple flashes of light. Yellow-gold-coloured indices and a matching date-window frame provide contrast, while the bezel itself uses Citizen’s Duratect Amber Yellow surface treatment.

Moving on to the Attesa CC4085-81Z Power of Purple Aurora, it uses a black dial with three-dimensional printing and purple-to-blue structural-colour film on the subdials. Citizen has applied a matching gradient treatment to the sapphire bezel ring, while the indices and date-window surround use pink-gold colouring. The bezel is finished with Duratect Pink, contrasting with the predominantly black DLC-treated Super Titanium case and bracelet.

Both watches share the same underlying hardware and have airport codes for major metropolitan hubs printed on the front. Their Super Titanium cases measure 44.6 mm across and 15.4 mm thick, with dual-spherical sapphire crystals featuring Citizen’s Clarity anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is rated at 10 bar. Inside is the Eco-Drive F950 movement, which can run for roughly five years on a full charge with power saving enabled and offers Satellite Wave GPS reception in as little as three seconds for time-only signals. Other functions include world time across 39 time zones, dual-time display, a perpetual calendar, alarm, power reserve and light-level indicators, and a 1/20-second chronograph capable of timing up to 24 hours.

Given that these are limited-edition watches packing top-shelf hardware, the Attesa lineup isn’t cheap. Citizen has priced both the CC4084-83Z and CC4085-81Z at ¥374,000 ($2,439) in Japan, with no international listings at the time of writing.
