Citizen celebrates 30 years of Cross Sea with two new limited-edition watches
Citizen is celebrating 30 years of its Cross Sea (xC) collection with two limited-edition “Midnight Voyage” watches. The pair combine sleek black cases with shimmering blue dials inspired by a glittering cityscape under the night sky.

Citizen is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Cross Sea (xC) watch collection, and to mark the milestone, the company has introduced two limited-edition models with a “Midnight Voyage” theme.

The duo includes the square-dialed ES9504-68E and round-dialed EC1039-55E, with both watches combining dark cases and bracelets with dramatic blue, star-speckled dials designed to evoke a nighttime journey.

The ES9504-68E features a compact 25mm square Super Titanium case finished in black with Citizen’s Duratect DLC coating. The gradient dial fades from black at the edges into deep blue, with a glittering cityscape effect across the lower half. Two lab-grown diamonds appear at 12 o’clock and act as “guideposts illuminating the path in the darkness," while the Roman numeral markers and silver dauphine-style hour and minute hands give the watch a refined, dressy look. The watch comes on a matching black Super Titanium bracelet, and Citizen also throws in a black cowhide leather strap with a navy blue underside for when you want to change things up a bit.

Then there’s the EC1039-55E, which presents the same Midnight Voyage theme in a 27.8mm round stainless steel case with a jet-black finish. Its blue-and-black dial also features the sparkling cityscape treatment, but adds lab-grown diamonds and faceted elements at 9 o’clock to represent lights on the horizon. More sparkling details appear on the hour markers. Unlike the square model, it also boasts a chapter ring printed with world-time city codes, giving the watch a more overtly travel-oriented personality.

Both Xc limited-edition watches are powered by Citizen’s Eco-Drive H060 and H246 movements, respectively, with radio-controlled timekeeping, world time, perpetual calendars, date displays, sapphire crystals, and 5 ATM water resistance. Each can run for around three years on a full charge with power-saving enabled. Both are also made in Japan and come equipped with engraved casebacks commemorating the 30th anniversary.
