Casio's new GM-5600 G-Shock collab surfaces again with more images in tow
New images of the fourth Hotei × G-Shock collaboration have appeared — these have been circulated by G-Shock account morgan_gshock, and they show the finish more clearly than the announcement art did.
The Guitarhythm pattern looks more grey against black rather than the high-contrast monochrome of Hotei's earlier collaborations. It runs across the resin band and continues onto the face surround, wrapping the metal bezel of the GM-5600UB-1 that serves as the base. The display is a negative LCD. The Hotei and Guitarhythm wordmarks are printed above the digits.
Details Casio and Hotei have since confirmed fill in what the first images left out. The caseback also has a Guitarhythm mark. The buckle and side buttons are finished in black IP. The packaging essentially repeats the pattern across its whole surface.
Hotei's official store says preorders will open through the official online shop this autumn, with full details announced later. That is more than the nothing available at announcement, though there is still no price and no shipping date.
The partnership is bigger than first reported. The Stay Wild Tour runs to 27 performances across 21 locations, not 21 dates, and opened on 5 September with two nights at Takasaki Arts Theatre. Samples will be displayed at merchandise booths throughout.
This is the first Hotei G-Shock in roughly five years. The third came in 2021 for his 40th anniversary, built on the GA-2100. Before that, the 35th-anniversary DW-5600HT-1JR arrived in March 2017 at ¥17,000 before tax, using the resin DW-5600 rather than a metal-bezel base. Each collaboration has moved to a more expensive platform, and the GM-5600 is the priciest base Hotei has been given yet.
