Timex launches new Peanuts watches with Snoopy chronograph and glowing astronomy dial

Timex has expanded its Peanuts collection with two new Snoopy-themed watches. One is based on the Q Timex Chronograph, and the other turns the more affordable Weekender into an astronomy-themed model.

The Peanuts x Q Timex Chronograph TW6A04400  uses a 40 mm brushed-and-polished stainless-steel case paired with a green dial and a matching aluminium tachymeter bezel. Snoopy appears relatively subtly inside the chronograph subdial at 9 o'clock, rather than dominating the watch face. The dial features applied indices, luminous hands and a date window positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock. At the back, you also get Timex X Peanuts branding along with the entire cast of the popular comic. 

The Peanuts x Q Timex Chronograph uses a battery-powered quartz chronograph movement running on an SR927SW cell and an acrylic crystal. It is rated to 50 metres of water resistance. It comes with a brown 20 mm leather strap with quick-release spring bars, and the complete watch measures 14 mm thick and weighs 77.6 g.

The Peanuts x Timex Weekender Astronomy TW2Y84900 leans further into the Peanuts aesthetics. Its blue dial depicts Snoopy as part of a celestial arrangement resembling a constellation. Timex's Indiglo backlight illuminates the entire design in the dark, making the astronomy theme stand out once the lights go out. This model measures 40 mm across, but its polished silver-tone case is made of low-lead brass, not stainless steel.

It is 9.5 mm thick and weighs 57.03 g. Other features include a quartz movement powered by a CR2016 cell, a mineral crystal, full Arabic numeral hour markers, luminous hands, a magnified date window, and 50-metre water resistance. A blue 20 mm leather strap completes the watch.

Price and availability

Timex is currently selling the Peanuts x Q Timex Chronograph TW6A04400 for $259 in the US, £215 in the UK and €249 in Europe. The Peanuts x Timex Weekender Astronomy TW2Y84900 costs $189 in the US, £155 in the UK and €179 in Europe. However, the latter is presently listed for pre-order on Timex's European and UK storefronts.
