Timex debuts new Waterbury Heritage automatic GMT with Seiko movement, stainless-steel build
Timex has added a new version of its Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT. The TW2Y93500 is now listed on Timex's UK and EU websites, where it carries a "New" badge, and it's also available on Timex US. It's the third colorway in the series, after the Coke and Sprite-style versions that debuted back in April.
This one gets a two-tone maroon and black bezel instead. The rest of the design doesn't change much, though. It has a black dial with applied indices, and a date window at 3 o'clock. The GMT hand is red with a white triangle tip, and there's a yellow seconds hand too. Timex also adds a red anodized crown, which ties in with the bezel. The hands and markers are luminous as well.
The case is 41.5 mm wide, 48 mm lug-to-lug and 14 mm thick. It's made from stainless steel, with a brushed and polished finish. That sits on a matching stainless steel bracelet with self-adjustable links and a butterfly deployant clasp, and the whole watch weighs 159.73 g. The crystal is domed K1 mineral glass with an anti-reflective coating, and there's an exhibition case back as well. Water resistance is rated at 50 m.
Inside is the NH34 automatic GMT movement, according to Timex US. That's the same movement as the two earlier versions, which were also the first automatics in the Waterbury Heritage line. The GMT hand lets you track a second time zone against the 24-hour bezel.
The TW2Y93500 costs £475 in the UK and €549 in the EU. In the US, it's listed at $579 on Timex's website and at Watches of Switzerland. That's $10 more than the $569 the Coke and Sprite versions launched at in April.
