Casio’s new collab G-Shock watch with 5-year battery life lands in the US

Last month, Bait announced its newest G-Shock collaboration watch through an Instagram post. Now, Casio’s Bait x G-Shock DW5600BAIT26-9 collaboration watch is available on its US website, priced at $170. Although it is currently marked “Notify Me” rather than available to purchase. Casio hasn’t yet revealed the official sale date. Called “Yamagata’s Finest," the watch gives the classic square G-Shock a banana-inspired makeover.
Speaking of the design, the digital watch features a bright banana-yellow resin case and strap with irregular brown speckles, creating the appearance of a ripe banana. Alongside the case, the design also extends across the strap keeper and buckle, while the strap tip receives a darker finish. Since its collaboration model, it is obvious that the watch comes with custom packaging that matches the theme, including a branded tin can and a box. You’ll also find a mascot character (Shawty with Freckles) on the packaging.
Besides the banana-themed exterior, the DW5600BAIT26-9 retains the familiar DW-5600 (curr. at $98.95 on Amazon) specifications. Dimensionally, it measures 13.4 mm (0.53 inches) in thickness and weighs around 52 grams (1.83 ounces). Practical features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, a multifunction alarm, a full automatic calendar (to the year 2099), and an LED backlight.
Furthermore, the backlight reveals the “Shawty with Freckles” mascot, which is also engraved on the stainless-steel caseback. On top of these features, there’s a mineral crystal on top of the dial, which offers basic scratch resistance. The watch is said to be shock-resistant and water-resistant up to 200 m (20 bar). Interested buyers can also purchase the watch directly from Bait’s online store in the US.
