The orange is the poppiest Casio model of the bunch, and it shows in the new hands-on shots.
Casio's MTP-E740 looks flat in press renders and very different in daylight. Owner photos of the orange 4AV and teal 3AV show the day and date wheel reading clearly through the dial, and one wrist shot has hit 676 upvotes on r/casio in a day.

Casio's press renders made the MTP-E740 look somewhat flat. However, the photographs people are posting do not.

The Reddit shots of the orange MTP-E740-4AV show us what the studio images miss cannot really capture. Out in daylight the dial looks very rich, the orange really pops. The printing underneath adds sort of a texture to the dial — MIE, JUE, VIE, SAB, DOM. Those are Spanish day names on the wheel below the translucent dial, ringed by the date numerals. The calendar mechanism turns into decoration, which is quite sweet. That is the entire trick of this watch. It's at its best in a photo taken outdoors.

The teal MTP-E740-3AV behaves a little differently. Across the hands-on clips it kind of switches between green and blue depending on angle. A blue version shows up in the same coverage.

Some wrist shots on r/casio got 676 upvotes, 67 comments and 150 shares inside a day, and two hands-on videos have pulled 71,000 and 52,000 views in a couple of weeks. As expected, Casio fans love these watches, especially the accessible price point. They are fun timepieces above everything else. Commentors are already asking Casio for pink and frosted versions. Some are guessing that the design came from Seiko Bamford, which is wrong but close, since the actual reference is the 1970s Seiko Time Sonar.

Aside from the dial, the mechanics are quite plain. You get module 5339, 20 seconds a month either way, a three-year SR920SW cell, mineral glass, 50 m of water resistance, and ₹6,995 in India, which is about $73. Casio sells five colors in all.

The case measures 45 by 39.8 by 8.7 mm and weighs 103 g. On the wrist, in those videos, the thinness stands out first and foremost.
