Casio's BGD-10KPM-7 arrives on 13 November at ¥16,500, built with POP Mart around the Baby Molly character. Pressing the backlight reveals two blue eyes that turn the display into her face, and the case pops out of its bezel to become a bag charm.

Casio has a watch coming that turns into a cartoon face when you press the light. The BGD-10KPM-7 is coming on 13 November at ¥16,500, about $104. It is Casio's new collab with POP Mart, which, in case you're unfamiliar, is the Chinese toy company behind the blind-box figures currently dominating the collectibles market. Molly is basically the character that started POP Mart, created by Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong, and 2026 is her twentieth year. Baby Molly is Molly as a toddler.

The case comes in the same yellow as Baby Molly's hair. If you press the Super Illuminator button, two blue eyes appear on the display. The watch then briefly becomes her face. Casio has engraved the Molly 20th anniversary logo on the caseback and hidden a graphic of her kindergarten name tag under the band.

The watch also comes apart. You can just pull off the bezel and band, and the bare case drops into a pink holder on a strap. You can turn it into a charm to hang off a bag. Also, you get a sheet of stickers in the box to decorate the holder. On the packaging, you can find visuals of  Baby Molly and her cat, Baby Tabby.

Just an FYI: that convertible design is not new by any means. Casio introduced it in April 2024 on the BGD-10K, the first watch in its Baby-G+Plus line, and has run it through Powerpuff Girls and Kuromi collaborations since.

Apart from all the bells and whistles, you get an ordinary Casio digital watch. The case is 42.8 by 39 by 14.7 mm and weighs 33 g. Water resistance is 100 m, the crystal is mineral, and a CR1616 cell lasts about three years. There is world time across 29 zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer, five alarms and an auto calendar good to 2099. Accuracy is 30 seconds a month either way.
