Casio launches three new retro analog-digital watches with sunburst dials in UK
Casio has officially released three new AQ-240 watches, namely the AQ-240E-1A, the AQ-240E-2A2, and the AQ-240EG-3A, in the UK. Design-wise, all three models are different from each other. For example, the AQ-240E-1A and the AQ-240E-2A2 ships with a silver-tone design, while the AQ-240EG-3A comes with a golden aesthetic. All three watches are paired with stainless steel bands with adjustable clasp.
The AQ-240E-1A has a black sunburst dial, the AQ-240E-2A2 comes with a deep blue hue, while the AQ-240EG-3A goes with a deep green sunray dial. Each has a slim casing, measuring 40.9 x 35.8 x 8.1 mm (~1.61 x 1.41 x 0.32 inches), and weighs 51 grams (1.8 oz). There’s also a small digital display positioned at 6 'o'clock and two analog hands. This gives the watch analog-digital character.
Furthermore, these hybrid watches run on the Module 5154, with support for dual time zones. Practical features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, daily alarm, hourly time signal, and automatic calendar. Casio hasn’t revealed the exact depth rating of these watches. These are said to offer basic water resistance. It’s worth noting that these models aren’t suitable for light water sports activities, such as swimming or snorkeling.
These digital-analog watches have a three-year battery life expectancy through the SR920W cell. On top of these features, there’s a resin glass on top of the dial, which is said to offer basic scratch resistance. As for price, the Casio AQ-240E-1A and the AQ-240E-2A2 are priced at £54.90 each. The AQ-240EG-3A is slightly pricier than the above two. Speaking more precisely, it costs £74.90. Casio has yet to confirm when the trio will make their way to the US market.
