Acemate unveils S10 Pro tennis robot with upgraded AI and Ace+ Shot ball handling
The Acemate S10 Pro has been unveiled with improved performance over the company's original tennis robot, the S10 released last year. An upgraded AI along with Ace+ Shot technology improves its ability to drill and rally with tennis players across clay, grass, and hard courts.
The S10 Pro is similar to the original model, with dual 4K cameras, Mecanum omni-directional wheels, a ball catching net, and a large range of preset drills. The cameras allow the machine to automatically detect the court and orient itself during use. They have HDR capability to see the court even in harsh lighting.
The Mecanum wheels allow the S10 Pro to move up to 5 m/s (16.4 ft/s) across the court in any direction while facing the player. A net is mounted on extending poles, enabling the robot to catch returns during practice.
The tennis robot is controlled by its app running on an Android or Apple smartphone, which comes with a wide range of drills to practice short, medium, and long shots and serves. Both drills targeting placement within a specific return location as well as the ability to move across a court to return a variety of shots are included. Users can also create customized drills to practice weak shots, including adjustable spin and ball height over the net.
The app tracks all data from each drill or rally, including where each ball landed as well as how many landed in versus out. AI analysis of drills provides users with recommendations for improvement.
The Acemate tennis robot comes with new Ace+ Shot technology, a ball shooting mechanism that rotates internally for more precise ball placement as well as higher maximum ball speed (up to 120 kph/75mph). It comes with a battery rated for up to 5 hours of practice and a ball hopper that can hold up to 100 balls (like these sold on Amazon).
