Deal | Citizen's limited-edition atomic chronograph hits record-low on Amazon, now listed at 61% off

Citizen's PCAT Sport in gray, reference CB5977-03E, is down to $343.86 on Amazon. Keepa's history for the listing labels that as the lowest price it has ever carried, set on 2 September and still live.

Amazon's own numbers are worth ignoring. The badge reads 61% off a $875 list price, but $875 is Citizen's MSRP and the watch has spent almost none of the past year there. Keepa logs it hitting $875 on 24 July and again in late August. These are brief spikes either side of long stretches in the $500s and $600s. Measured against what the listing has actually charged (the 90-day average of $667), the saving is closer to $323 and the discount closer to 48%. That is still the best price on record by a wide margin: the previous all-time low was around $410 back in the spring.

The watch is a limited-edition, though a very loosely defined one. Citizen caps it at 1,500 pieces worldwide with no numbering on the caseback, so there is no way to tell where a given example is positioned in the run.

Specifications-wise, you get a lot. The 43 mm gray-toned steel case is 15.35 mm thick, water resistant to 200 m, and covered by sapphire. Caliber E660 drives a chronograph, perpetual calendar, power reserve indicator, alarm and world timer, and syncs to radio time signals with city selection across 43 locations. Screw-down pushers and a guarded crown handle the sport brief, and the hybrid steel and polyurethane strap closes on a hidden-button folding clasp.

The silver CB5970-02H is listed alongside it for $602.70.
