Citizen has launched the Red Arrows Limited Edition Promaster Skyhawk, a 43mm hybrid analogue-digital chronograph featuring atomic timekeeping, a perpetual calendar and multiple aviation-focused functions. The model is imited to 9,999 pieces worldwide.

Citizen has just dropped its Red Arrows Limited Edition Promaster Skyhawk (JV2007-52E), a hybrid analogue-digital chronograph created in partnership with the Royal Air Force's Red Arrows aerobatic team. Designated as JV2007-52E, the watch combines a black ion-plated stainless-steel case and bracelet with a black dial accented in white and red. Its 43mm case incorporates a rotating slide-rule bezel and is topped with scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The aviation-themed timepiece packs an extensive selection of functions, including a perpetual calendar, alarm, 99-minute countdown timer and 1/100-second chronograph capable of measuring periods up to 24 hours. It also features atomic timekeeping, i.e., it uses radio waves to automatically sync and to maintain the exact time, while its 200-meter water resistance is arguably an odd inclusion on a watch marketed primarily around flight, though not an unwelcome one for everyday durability.

The watch is currently listed at £695 (approx. $945) on Citizen's UK website, with next-day dispatch and a 21-day returns window. Interestingly, Citizen states that production is "limited to 9,999 pieces worldwide," so this isn't necessarily a UK-only model. Rather, it is more likely that the UK is simply the first market where it has gone on sale given its recent launch. Lastly, each model is delivered in a limited-edition presentation box with a plaque, positioning it as a collector's item rather than a mass-market release.
