Seiko launches new ultra-slim limited-edition watch with a striking dial pattern

At only 5.9 mm thick, Seiko's latest anime collaboration is thinner than most dress watches out there. The D.Gray-man x Seiko Collaboration Watch, Allen Walker Model, opened for order on 18 August through Amnibus. For reference, Amnibus is the anime merchandise platform run by Tokyo-based arma bianca. The company confirmed the launch in a press release issued on Tuesday.

The watch is priced at ¥59,800 (~$375) including consumption tax, or ¥54,363 before it. Reservations are open until 16 September, with units shipping sequentially from early April, and Amnibus adds that orders cannot be cancelled once placed. The company also warns it may close the window early depending on manufacturing capacity.

The black dial on the new collab is adorned with gold motifs drawn from Crown Clown, Allen Walker's Innocence: a mask, wings and a crown. The pentacle above his left eye is present at 12 o'clock as a raised silver part, not a printed marker. The cross on his left hand sits at 6. Series creator Katsura Hoshino supervised the entire design. In notes published alongside the launch, Hoshino describes rendering the pentacle in silver-white so that it could be read as either snow or a spiral of life. The caseback features Timcanpy, Allen's companion, alongside an English rendering of a phrase associated with the character: do not stop, keep walking. The presentation box also uses the D.Gray-man logo on its lid. You also get Allen motifs and his name in gold foil inside.

The case measures 37.5 by 33 by 5.9 mm and the watch weighs 24 grams, which is quite light. It can fit wrists up to 16.5 cm on a 17 mm strap. The case is gold-plated stainless steel, the strap is cowhide over a synthetic lining, and the crystal is Hardlex.

Seiko's caliber 7N01 quartz movement runs to within 15 seconds a month — it gets you roughly three years of battery life. Water resistance is 5 bar, there is no Lumibrite, and the watch is made in Japan.
