Seiko has launched a watch based on the Setouchi Blue One Piece Shinkansen. It is now open for order at ¥76,780 (~$482) including tax. The steel quartz chronograph has a Hardlex crystal and 10 bar rating, and ships from mid-January 2027.

Seiko has produced a watch based on the One Piece Shinkansen, the anime-liveried bullet train that runs on Japan's Sanyo line. Orders are open through Premico which lists it at ¥76,780 including consumption tax, or roughly $482, plus ¥770 shipping. Units start shipping from mid-January 2027.

The design is based on Setouchi Blue — one of three liveries in the One Piece x Sanyo Shinkansen programme marking the line's 50th anniversary. That train has run between Shin-Osaka and Hakata since April 2025, alongside designs themed on Luffy and Chopper — two other characters from the same manga.

The dial sports a blue gradient matching the livery. Multiple references are built into the layout, and not just printed across it. A straw hat is visible on the index at one o'clock, the Straw Hat Pirates flag is present in the small-seconds register, and the chronograph seconds hand brings Luffy together with an anchor. A gold marker at ten o'clock celebrates the anniversary itself. Also, luminous treatment on the hour and minute hands is styled after the Shinkansen's headlights, which is a neat touch.

Case, caseback and bracelet are stainless steel — the case measures approximately 47 by 39.8 by 12.8 mm, under a curved Hardlex crystal. Water resistance is 10 bar, and Seiko rates the quartz movement to within an average of 15 seconds per month. The watch is made in Japan and carries a three-year warranty. Bracelets come in three lengths, fitting wrists of 14, 16 or 18 cm, and buyers select a size at order.

Two details are somewhat important for anyone converting the price or planning around delivery. The ¥69,800 figure quoted in early English coverage excludes consumption tax, and the shipping window is 2027 rather than 2026.

Premico also adds that its photographs show a development sample and that the finished watch may differ.
