Timex’s new affordable military-style MK1 gets a playful makeover

We’ve already seen quite a few Snoopy-themed watches from Timex this month, including the ’60s-inspired Marlin racing chronograph, the new Expedition Scout and Acadia editions, and the Waterbury featuring Snoopy’s autumn dial. Now, the company has dropped another playful Peanuts collaboration, this time bringing Snoopy to the military-inspired MK1.

The new Peanuts x Timex MK1 (reference TW2Y85400) is a compact field watch featuring a 36mm stainless-steel case paired with a black dial that offers Arabic numerals and a 24-hour inner track. Obviously, the dial is the main attraction here, and it features a yellow-and-black checkered graphic running across the lower half, with Snoopy standing in the middle as if he’s ready to flag down the next lap.

Despite the addition of Snoopy, the watch manages to retain the straightforward look you’d expect from an MK1. You get a brushed stainless-steel case topped with a domed acrylic crystal for a vintage touch and luminous hands and hour markers that keep the dial legible under low light. The watch itself measures 11mm thick and 42.5mm from lug to lug, making its 36mm diameter a highly wearable proposition.

Like the Expedition models, the new MK1 edition comes fitted with a double-layer black fabric strap, which not only adds to the military-inspired aesthetic, but also makes your life a lot easier when changing straps. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and boasts 30-meter water resistance, which is good enough to withstand splashes.

Priced at $199 / £175 / CAD $259, the new Peanuts x Timex MK1 is another relatively accessible way to add Snoopy to your wrist. The watch is available now directly from Timex's website in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe.
