Coros Pace 4 Pro: New lightweight GPS smartwatch reveals itself before release
In recent weeks, evidence has emerged demonstrating that both Garmin and Suunto are on the verge of introducing new smartwatches. On the one hand, Garmin is expected to deliver the Fenix 9 and Marq Gen 3 series. On the other hand, Suunto has been spotted preparing the Run 2, Race 3 and the Race 3 S.
Now, Coros has joined the party by certifying an unreleased smartwatch with the SDPPI in Indonesia. As the screenshot below shows, the company has submitted a smartwatch called the 'Coros Pace 4 Pro'. Associated with the model number 'W337', the Pace 4 Pro has not appeared anywhere else yet.
Nonetheless, past performance suggests that a flurry of other regulatory body filings will emerge in the coming weeks. Typically, Coros launches new smartwatches between August and October. Hence, the Pace 4 Pro's appearance at a regulatory body falls in line with previous release cycles.
The SDPPI has not revealed what to expect from the Pace 4 Pro, nor how it will differ from last year's Pace 4 (curr. $249 on Amazon). The release of the Pace Pro may offer a few clues, though. For instance, the Pace Pro featured more storage, RAM and a faster chipset than the comparable Pace 3. Given that Coros introduced battery life and AMOLED display upgrades with the Pace 4, we would not be surprised if the Pace 4 Pro brought added performance to the table, too.
