Garmin Fenix 9 Pro Solar with MiP display said to launch alongside Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro inReach

Rumors have been circulating for months that the Garmin Fenix 9 will be released in the second half of 2026, alongside the Fenix 9 Pro and possibly the Enduro 4, whose features are said to be optimized for the longest possible battery life. While rumors had previously suggested that Garmin would offer only models with AMOLED displays, Garmin Rumors reports that this will be the case only for the base model.

According to the latest rumors, Garmin is set to launch three models – a Fenix 9, a Fenix 9 Pro, and a Fenix 9 Pro inReach. Unlike in the past, the inReach satellite connectivity is no longer part of the standard Pro model. It is not yet known how the Fenix 9 and the Fenix 9 Pro differ, but it’s conceivable that the Pro model will feature a higher-quality body with a sapphire crystal display cover, thereby replacing the typical Sapphire version. What’s particularly exciting, however, is that according to Garmin Rumors, at least the Fenix 9 Pro and the Fenix 9 Pro inReach will be available with either an AMOLED or MiP display.

The version with the MiP display reportedly also features solar cells integrated into the display to achieve a longer battery life. To put this in perspective: The 47 mm Garmin Fenix 8 Solar achieves a battery life of 28 days with normal use, while the Fenix 8 AMOLED ($987 on Amazon) in the same size lasts only 16 days – or seven days with the always-on display active. Both the Garmin Fenix 9 and the Fenix 9 Pro, as well as the Fenix 9 Pro inReach, are reportedly set to be offered as smaller 43-millimeter versions as an option. However, as before, a MiP display will only be available on models with a case diameter of 47 millimeters or larger.
