Amazfit smartwatches get improved map-related feature in update

Updates are rolling out to the Amazfit T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro and T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatches. This follows the June 2026 releases for these wearables, which added the new HybridCharge feature as well as HYROX training templates.
Reported by Amazfit smartwatch users on the 4PDA forum are firmware version 6.2.204.3 for the T-Rex Ultra 2 and firmware version 6.2.204.6 for the T-Rex 3. These updates bring an improvement for the Route Preview function, with users now able to pan and zoom on the map. This tool is available to users both before and during a workout.
Amazfit has ‘upgraded’ the algorithm linked to Pool Swimming with a Manual Rest feature, creating separate swimming and rest periods for each workout. Other benefits of this update include an enhanced alarm function, bug fixes and stability improvements. Plus, in the firmware version 6.2.204.6 change log, Amazfit lists a new Always Locked touchscreen mode, designed to be used during a workout. When enabled, the watch can only be operated using its buttons.
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 (curr. $251 at Amazon), T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch updates are rolling out in phases to users. The update will be available to download via the Zepp app.
