The 2026 MSI Cyborg gaming laptop has gotten a huge discount at Walmart. The laptop is powered by an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU, an Intel Core 5 210H CPU, and 16 GB of DDR5 memory.

Desktop GPUs are getting more expensive. Reports suggest that mid-range GPUs like the RTX 5060 Ti can cross the $700 mark. This will absolutely ruin the budget segment of the DIY PC gaming market. While this also means that gaming laptops will see price increases as well, there are still some good value gaming laptops out there for gamers who are on the hunt for one.

If you have around $1,000 to spend, the latest MSI Cyborg 15 deal at Walmart might interest you. Walmart has now discounted the 2026 MSI Cyborg 15 gaming laptop by a healthy $300. The laptop now costs just $999, which is an arguably good price considering the hardware on offer.

The MSI Cyborg 15 (2026) on sale features an RTX 5060 laptop GPU, an 8-core Intel Core 5 210H CPU, 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 512 GB SSD under the hood. Both the storage and the memory are expandable thanks to one M.2 and two SO-DIMM slots. The notebook also carries Wi-Fi 6E/BT5.3 and a 55.2 Wh battery.

On the outside, we have a 15.6-inch IPS display with thin bezels and a 144 Hz refresh rate. There is a 4-zone RGB backlight keyboard with a numpad, a decently sized trackpad, and a good-but-not-great port selection.

So, how does the MSI Cyborg 15 perform in real life? We reviewed the RTX 5050-powered SKU of the Cyborg 15 back in February and found out that the laptop does have its merits. But before we look at the strengths of the Cyborg 15, let’s first see where MSI dropped the ball.

For starters, MSI handicaps the GPU inside the Cyborg 15 by nerfing its TDP. Our RTX 5050 review unit had a max TDP of just 45 W, while the RTX 5060 inside the SKU on sale is allowed 60 W. Per Nvidia’s official spec, the RTX 5060 laptop can scale up to 115 W. So, MSI artificially limits the performance of the Cyborg 15.

Another major con of the Cyborg 15 (2026) is the IPS display. Our testing revealed that the FHD display is dim, coming in under 300 nits, and has limited color space coverage of just 65% sRGB. So, despite it being 144 Hz, we highly recommend getting an affordable Mini LED gaming monitor.

Putting these issues aside, the MSI Cyborg 15 is a pretty good package overall. It has a solid construction, good inputs, and runs cool/quiet thanks to the low TDP. The combination of the RTX 5060 laptop GPU and the Core 5 210H should also ensure smooth FHD/QHD gaming in almost every game, including demanding AAA titles.

The laptop also has fast Wi-Fi and drive speeds, which will make for a snappy system.

So, while the MSI Cyborg 15 does have its issues, there aren’t a lot of gaming laptops that will offer as much as the MSI Cyborg 15 for $999.
